save-the-date!

Save-the-dates are becoming pretty popular on wedding to-do lists these days, and while they aren't always necessary, they are always fun! My graphic designer whipped this one up for me that I am offering to my clients to be used with an engagement photo . . . and while I know there are thousands of online options to choose from, if you're going to throw your money at one, why not go local? ;)

This card is folded and just under a 4 x 6" size. This image was taken from Hailey and Adam's engagement shoot this past fall . . .

Here is the front. My designer and her husband are amazing artists, and when they were giving me logo options, this bride/groom abstract was one of my favorites. I didn't want to use it exclusively in my logo because I knew I'd be photographing portraits as well, not just weddings, but I was determined to use it somehow in the weddings part of the business. When it came time to think of save-the-dates, it was pretty much my only request!

Save-the-dates are only considered necessary when 1) you are getting married on a weekday or holiday weekend or 2) you are getting married in a location that is different from where you reside. I'm sure there are other factors and situations where save-the-dates should be sent, but these are the top two I've come across consistently.

And if you are one of my brides and ever want some advice or thoughts on any part of your wedding planning, from gown and veil choices to color schemes to menu ideas, don't ever hesitate to shoot me an email! I am a HUGE lover of fashion, food and decor and anytime I get to put in my two cents, I'm happy :)

Happy Thursday!
