This morning I woke up to the devastating news that our beautiful downtown area had been rocked by an explosion . . . it started at Boodles, and soon enough destroyed at least four other businesses along each side of this wonderful restaurant. An art gallery, children's clothing boutique, American Legion, bar and restaurant have been destroyed. Another restaurant and local architectural firm have been damaged. One person is missing.
It's sad when hearing news like this is what makes you want to hold your kids a little tighter, and kiss them a bit more sloppier. I know that sentence is probably not grammatically correct, but I don't care. My heart is broken for the family who is waiting for the news on their beloved, for those who lost their businesses, and their art. The economy is hard enough as it is, the last thing these business-owners needed was to lose it all in a raging fire. I hope in the coming days and weeks there is something I can do to contribute to the rebuilding of this area. I will do what I can . . . I have quickly learned the importance and value of the amazing people and companies in this small town. This unfortunate incident will indeed bring us closer and pull us through strong, proud and determined.
I took a couple photographs of the girls this morning that are in no way posted here to sell my photography skills. I am simply posting them because they are the girls, being fabulous, loving, and most importantly, safe here at home with their mama.
Stella brought her favorite stuffed animals over to get cozy sitting on a stack of Food & Wine magazines while reading a little Dr. Seuss:
Lil' miss thang butted in to steal the spotlight and take over reading hour. Here she is reading Green Eggs and Ham, which is a freaking riot. It goes something like this coming from a three-year-old . . . "I see see see eggs and ham, I no like eggs and ham, I see see see, you EAT eggs and ham, Sam!"
Phony time!
And here is where Ava asked if she could hold Stella, who was all snuggled up in my arms (it was a no-nap day). There's about a six-pound difference between them but they're both considered peanuts!
Go hug your children, support your local businesses, and have a lovely Friday, everyone! Please keep the people of Bozeman who are affected by this tragedy in your thoughts and prayers.

I couldn't believe this when I heard about it... it's actually a miracle that a lot of people weren't hurt. I used to go eat at Boodles when I'd visit Bozeman (I grew up in Townsend, and went to school in Missoula). I'm sending good thoughts and prayers that way for everyone!
By the by, I found your blog by way of Emily, she's a friend of mine from high school and gave out the website so we could see her gorgeous wedding photos. You do an amazing job!
You and everyone in the Bozeman area will be in our thoughts and prayers!
