So, I'm totally enjoying all of this hooplah over The Bachelor. The world is pissed, to put it bluntly. Here is my opinion, in case anyone cares.
First of all, it would be so easy to just say oh. my. god. Jason is such a jerk. What a tool. What a loser. I can't believe he dumped Melissa on television. I have to say that was my initial thought. But I am a strong devotee of People.com, and my good friends there published a wonderful interview with the J-Dawg that truly, in reality TV world, made perfect sense. The guy was under contract, and his contract said that he had to do it on TV if he was gonna do it. I haven't gotten my Cheetos-covered fingers on that contract (yet), but I imagine it's as thick as a bible and that the poor guy didn't even read it before he signed on the dotted line that promised to pay him 500 grand for being a part of the show. And then the real world happened to him. He proposed to Melissa after 6 weeks of a continuous Chardonnay drip, found out she actually talks about herself in the third person, and realized they weren't MFEO. Big deal. Happens everyday. He probably shouldn't have proposed to Melissa, especially considering he almost jumped to his death after he sent miss Molly home (that's never a good sign), but better he kicked her to the curb after six weeks versus marrying the poor girl and then going through another big D.
Although Molly has a completely bizarre shaking-her-head-when-she-talks syndrome, I think she's sweet and she seems safe enough to bring home to baby. I wish them nothing but happiness and many years of lazy mornings cuddling in bed in his fake Seattle house. Did you all know that house on the water in Seattle was staged? Yuppers. You heard it here first.
I want to clarify that although I love trashy reality television, I am currently involved in the following extracurricular activities:
Reading: Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert and The Art of Happiness by the Dalai Lama.
Eating: Organic, sustainable food and supporting my local grocery stores and restaurants.
Drinking: Award-winning Sauvingnon Blanc, Diet Pepsi with Lime, fresh tap water (mmmmmmm!!)
Talking and Texting on: My BlackBerry, also known as a WhackBerry and CrackBerry.
Amused by: People who think the housing crisis is the fault of the banks when it's actually the fault of the people who are living outside their means and getting loans they can't afford. We need to be more responsible.
Editing: Emily and Dan's beautiful wedding. Here is another portrait I came across tonight that I love to pieces . . .
Excited for: Spring, a portrait shoot tomorrow, my husband coming home from another couple weeks in Oregon, wedding season, a few upcoming Boudoir shoots (ooh, la la!), and the girls' upcoming birthdays! Ava will be four on May 3rd, and Stella will be two on May 4th :)
It's a rainy week here in Bozeman, and I am loving it! Can't wait to puddle-hop during my portrait session tomorrow!
Happy Tuesday!
