the strikingly beautiful carrie and dave

Ah, the wedding of Carrie and Dave finally arrived. It was an amazing day in so many ways . . . if I start posting pictures, I won't be able to stop, so here is a sneak peek. Just go to the slideshow immediately to see how absolutely beautiful this couple is.

Photobucket

I photographed this wedding with John Mitchell of Silver Lining Photo & Video here in Plattsburgh. When I first launched my business, I had planned on traveling home for this wedding. Carrie is one of my best friends, our families are friends, and we have known each other for many, many years. In fact, we're blood sisters. That's how long we've known each other. I asked Carrie if I could take some photos at her wedding for my portfolio, as long as the photographer she had hired was okay with that. Carrie was more than welcome to the idea since she is just so damn sweet. When I asked John, he offered me an even better option . . . to give his second shooter the day off and have me assist him. I could keep all my photos for my portfolio and use them as I wish. He was in a similar place when he started and was happy to help out a fellow photographer. John, thank you from the bottom of my heart for this opportunity, and for being so laid back and generous! John worked his ass off all day long and I can't wait to see his photos!

I met Carrie and her bridesmaids at 8:00 a.m. at the salon for hair and makeup, and it was quite an emotional greeting. I hadn't seen Carrie in probably a year, and hadn't seen two of my other dearest girlfriends from high school in what felt like 10 years. To get to spend this time with them was incredible . . . we drank mimosas, we laughed, we gossiped, we reminisced, and the whole time I got to photograph it all and document this very special day for Carrie and Dave. They married in a very beautiful and traditional Catholic ceremony at St. John's Church, and both the bride and groom had trouble holding back the tears. They have been together since we were 15, and I know they have waited for this moment for a looong time. :)

My continuous drip of Chardonnay on an empty stomach at the reception let my emotions run wild. I danced and danced, I cried a TON, and I also finally got to meet Randy, my friend Kate's husband from thedupreyfamily.blogspot.com. That put me right over the edge, as I'd been reading about him for months and months on their blog and about his battle with Scleroderma. What an amazing man. I can't wait to spend more time with them while I'm home!

Carrie and Dave, thank you so very much for allowing me to be a part of your wedding day, and for making me feel so welcome. To watch the two of you together and see you both overcome with the love and emotion you have for each other is truly heartwarming. I love you both to pieces.

Enjoy the slideshow!

Sorry Morgan! Typo in the last post. We can't wait to have YOU do our family photos while you are home. Not, "we can't wait to have to do our family photos while you are home"--that sounds like we are being FORCED--which of course is NOT TRUE!!
Ha Ha!
